POLAND - Edward J. Jasinski Sr., 84, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman, Ohio.
Edward was born on November 11, 1940 in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late Joseph A. Jasinski and Josephine (Tabaka) Jasinski.
Education was important to Edward, who served as an altar server while attending St. Casimir School and graduated from Rayen High School in 1958. He carried the values learned through these formative years throughout his life, demonstrating kindness and warmth to everyone he met.
As a finished carpenter and woodworker, Edward’s hands brought warmth and life into the many homes he built for his family. He worked at Lumber City for the majority of his life, retiring in 1992, yet his passion for woodworking never ceased. Edward was also an accomplished cabinet maker, and his skilled creations were a testament to his unwavering work ethic and keen eye for detail. He poured not just his talent but his heart into every project, and his work has left an indelible mark within his family's lives.
Those who knew Edward celebrated his sense of humor. He had a deep love for cutting grass, a hobby that found him outdoors, tending to the beauty around him. Polka music filled his home, and his fondness for westerns often captured his evenings with tales of adventure and camaraderie. He proudly served as a member of the Poland Knights of Columbus, finding joy in the fellowship and community service that accompanied his involvement. Edward's warmhearted nature endeared him to all, and he was always eager to lend a helping hand or share a moment of laughter.
He leaves behind his cherished wife, Ida (D'Alesio) Jasinski of 58 years, and their loving daughters, Janice Jasinski, Theresa Rapp, and Sandra (Bill) Becker. His devoted son, Edward (Linsey) Jasinski Jr., will carry on his legacy, as will his dear siblings, sister Jane Grace, brother Joseph P. (Diane) Jasinski, and sister-in-law Connie D'Alesio. Edward also leaves behind his Uncle Frank and Aunt Julie Tabaka, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Edward's spirit lives on in his seven grandchildren—Dalton (Anga) Becker, Dylan (Gwen) Becker, Logan Becker, Lillian Becker, Taylor Jasinski, Jackson Jasinski, Marissa Rapp—who have all been touched by his love and guidance.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph A. Jasinski and Josephine (Tabaka) Jasinski, along with his brother-in-law Joe Grace and sister-in-law Donna Jasinski.
