POLAND - A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for Edward J. Kapusta, 84, who passed away early Thursday morning at Hospice House.
Edward was born July 28, 1928, in Carbon, Pa., a son of the late Matt and Rose Matesic Kapusta and was always proud of his Croatian heritage.
Edward graduated from Bessemer High School and continued his education at a trade school in Pittsburgh. He was owner and operator of Eddie's TV in Hillsville for 32 years. He also sponsored a local bowling team "Eddie's TV."
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 66 and loved tamburitza music.
Edward enjoyed organizing local drives for refugees in Croatia. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Indians fan and a diehard Notre Dame fan.
Edward leaves his wife, the former Frances A. Vlah, whom he married May 18, 1968; his two daughters, Christine Theresa Gibbons Kapusta of Chicago and Michelle Marcus Williams Kapusta and their son, Matthew Edward of Chicago; and his sister, Pauline L. Kay of Boardman.
Edward was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Kay.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
