BOARDMAN - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, for Edward Larson, 72, who died Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Edward was born May 9, 1943, the son of Rudolph and Magdalen (Zwick) Larson.
He was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and attended Youngstown State University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Edward worked for Wean United as a pipe fitter for 32 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and a 32nd degree Mason with the Sulgrave Lodge No. 696.
Edward was an avid reader and loved all Ohio sports, especially the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and the Ohio State Buckeyes. His passion was coaching Austintown Little League football for the Austintown Little Falcons.
Most of all, Edward enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he was so proud of.
Edward is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Wissinger, whom he married Nov. 7, 1987; two daughters, Linnette Patterson of Austintown and Michelle (Scott) Packer of Austintown; a stepdaughter, Tami (Rick) Baringer of Newton Falls; a stepson, Glen Bartholow of Toledo; three brothers, Gary (Bobbi) Larson of Harrisburg, Pa., Robert (Cathleen) Larson of Bartlett, Tenn., and Jack (Lori) Hamley of Campbell; eight grandchildren, Lindsay (Corey) Susany, Brittany Packer (fiance Patrick DeVito), Paige Patterson, Amanda Larson, Zane Patterson, Jake Larson, Stephanie Baringer and Ryan Baringer; and two great-grandchildren, Boston Susany and Emma Devito.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edward Larson; and a brother, William Hamley.
Family and friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, and Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview, Boardman, OH 44512.
