Edward Mckinney

CANFIELD - Edward P. McKinney, 52, passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

"Ed" was born in Youngstown, May 15, 1964, the son of the late James M. McKinney and Marian V. Newman McKinney, both of Youngstown.

Ed is survived by his older brother, James (Nancy) McKinney of Cranberry Township, Pa.; his sister, Kathleen McKinney of Cranberry Township; and his youngest brother, Robert (Tammy) McKinney of Marysville. He is also survived by three nephews and one niece, Shawn and Joshua McKinney of Marysville and Douglas and Danielle McKinney of Cranberry Township. Ed also leaves many friends, co-workers, and longtime buddies, as well his beloved dog, Scooter.

A 1982 graduate of South Range High School, Ed was most recently employed by Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods located in Canfield. Ed also owned and operated a drain service business. He previously trained horses for Staffrey Stables, also located in Canfield. Ed was known for his work-ethic and the ability to fix nearly anything.

He will be especially remembered as the "go to" guy when someone needed a hand. He will also be remembered for his sense of humor, especially around the campfire, his ability to train horses, and his love of dogs.

He will be missed by his family, as well as the many people he called his friends.

Calling hours will be held in his honor on Friday, July 8, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friends and family may express their condolences at this time.

In place of a formal memorial service, his friends have planned a gathering to celebrate his life on Saturday, July 9, 2016.

The family wishes to thank those who have demonstrated their willingness to help and support them during this difficult time.
