AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Austintown Community Church for Edward H. Vaughn, 80, who passed away Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Edward was born June 5, 1932, in Canton, a son of the late Harold and Ida Wagner Vaughn.
Edward was a 1950 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed with a MASH unit in Germany. When he completed his time in the Army, he was ranked as a Corporal.
Edward was a licensed photo engraver for City Printing for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Austintown Community Church and worked with their Need Room. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. He loved children and his greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Edward leaves his wife, the former Carol J. Hothem, whom he married April 3, 1958; his two sons, Mark E. Laura Vaughn of Wapakoneta and Dale K. Cindy Vaughn of Bowling Green; a sister, Betty Gloeckler of Pittsburgh; a brother, Paul Vaughn of Rittman; and three grandchildren, Zack, Ryan, and Ashley Vaughn.
Family and friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
