Edward Villella

February 22, 1919 — November 1, 2006

BOARDMAN, OH - A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 11th at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Library, PA, for Edward Villella age 87 of Boardman who passed away Tuesday, November 1st at St.
Elizabeth Health Center from complications from a stroke after a 2 1/2 week illness.

Ed was born February 22, 1919, in Pittsburgh, the son of Fiore and
Celeste Alpine Villella.

He and his family moved to Italy as a youngster after the death of his father. He lived there for several years and then returned to
the United States. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II, returning home he worked as a laborer for the City of Pittsburgh for over 25 years, retiring in
1978. He later moved to the Boardman area in 2000.

His wife the former Angie Panzino whom he married August 16, 1943, preceded him in death in 1985.

He is survived by two daughters; Janet Dario Basso of Las Vegas, NV, and Diane Dave Hirak of South Park, PA, a son, Ed Kathy Villella with whom he made his home in Boardman, and eight grandchildren; Kristen and Nicole Basso, Aaron, Adam, and Anthony Hirak, and Samantha, Nikki, and Brent Villella.

Besides his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his step father Joseph Stella, three sisters, Adeline Frezza, Edith Marini, and Bertha Mastri, and
two brothers, Adolf, and Peter Villella.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 PM Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, Canfield, Ohio, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Pittsburgh.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the American Stroke Association division of the American Heart Association in Mr. Villella's memory.
