POLAND- Prayers will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at the Holy Family Church for Mrs. Eleanor Premec, 76, who passed away suddenly on Wednesday.
Eleanor was born November 4, 1936, in Youngstown, to Andrew and Anna Benya Bush. She resided in Austintown for over 50 years until moving to Poland.
She was a graduate of East High School where she was named Prom Queen. Eleanor was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was currently working at Classic Bakery but had previously been employed by
Tippecanoe Country Club, Mr. Paul's Bakery, and with Dr. James N. Altiere.
Mrs. Premec enjoyed playing cards, fishing, watching movies and sharing a good joke. She also enjoyed writing poetry and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Stephen R. Premec, whom she married June 18, 1955, passed away January 23, 1993.
Eleanor is survived by two daughters, Pamela K. Daniel Vass of Poland, and Paulette A. Kevin Keller of Ocoee, FL; three sisters, Margaret Neil Franklin of Girard, Irene Edward Hornyak of
Youngstown, and Kathleen Donald Coppola of Struthers; two grandchildren, Amy M. Scott Harper and Anthony F. Laurie; one great grandson, Michael P. Harper; the beloved relatives of her husband; and her longtime card club friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Joseph Higgins and Sophie James Gavozzi.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
