AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Eleanor M. Schwarten, 83, who died early Friday morning, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Ms. Schwarten was born May 3, 1932, in Youngstown, the daughter of John C. and Helen (Gubic) Schwarten, and was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area.
Eleanor graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1950.
After high school, Eleanor worked as an operator for Bell Telephone for 14 years. After leaving Bell Telephone, she worked for a steel company in Cleveland.
Eleanor was known for her kind heart, and willingness to help people. She cared for her parents for several years as they both grew old in age.
The most important thing to Eleanor was her family. She loved to spend time with them.
Eleanor will be sadly missed by her sister, Nancy Zwarycz of Willoughby Hills; her brother, John C. (Linda) Schwarten of Canfield; and four nieces and nephews, Jennifer (James) Stear, Carrie (Rahman) Alfalaij, Jeff (Sandy) Schwarten, and James Schwarten Jr.
Besides her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother, James Schwarten Sr.; brother-in-law Paul Zwarycz; and sister-in-law Margaret Schwarten.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 until the time of service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
