POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior, St. Nicholas Church for Elizabeth Bero Biddlestone, 92, who passed away Sunday at her home.
Elizabeth was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Brownsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Barko) Shurilla.
Elizabeth was a member of Christ Our Savior, St. Nicholas Church and their Altar Guild. She was an avid bowler and also a former member of the Merlinettes and GCU bowling leagues.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Wayne Biddlestone, whom she married Nov. 27, 1970; two daughters, Suzanne Pinkerton of Austintown and Marybeth (Phil) Hostetter of East Palestine; three sons, Edward (Rose) Bero of New Middletown, Thomas (Moggie) Bero of Poland, and Robert Bero of Lowellville; a stepdaughter, Jane (Barry) Walker of East Palestine; a stepson, Glen R. (Helen) Biddlestone of Columbus; a brother, Joseph (Mary) Shurilla of Louisville; 12 grandchildren, Christine, Stephen, David, Andrew Bero, Stephanie Kunovich, Elizabeth Pinkerton, Rebecca Fabian, Matthew Pinkerton, Josh and Aaron Bero, Mandy Musser, and Lee Anne Pethel; two stepgrandchildren, Jason Biddlestone and Michele Reyes; and 15 great-grandchildren and Peyton Hulburt; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Bero, whom she married Oct. 26, 1946, and who passed away June 21, 1966; a sister, Helen Wereb; and seven brothers, Stephen, Julius, Paul, Albert, Emery, Louis, and John Shurilla.
Family and friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley. Elizabeth's family would like to give a special thanks to Karen and all of the staff of Hospice of the Valley for all of their care.
