AUSTINTOWN - Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Johnston, 78, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Saturday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Youngstown, a daughter of John Nicholas and Isabel Sabino Emanuel.
Betty was a 1955 graduate of The Rayen School. She had worked for K-Mart in Austintown as a Pharmacy Tech for 31 years, retiring April 2003.
Betty was a member of the Eagles No. 3298. She loved to read, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Betty was a loving sister, mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Tammy A. (Brian) Hartman of Canfield; two sons, Mark A. Johnston of Youngstown and John P. Johnston of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; sister Judy (Jerry) Rehak of Youngstown; two grandchildren, Ian Michael and Erin Elizabeth Johnston; niece Debbie (Bobby James) Sabel; nephew James (Anna) Dravec; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Rose Ramos, Mary Precurato and Mary Margaret "Dolly" Lent; two brothers, Nicholas and John Emanuel; and daughter-in-law Anita Johnston.
There are no calling hours or services.
