YOUNGSTOWN- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, for Elizabeth "Betty" Jane (Irwin) Mancini, 90, who died Wednesday afternoon at Meridian Arms Living Center in Youngstown.
Mrs. Mancini was born on March 23, 1925, in Nemacolin Pa., a daughter of the late David and Marie (Carlton) Irwin.
She came to this area in 1944 from Pennsylvania, and began working as a clerk at West Gate Pharmacy.
Betty loved bingo, bowling, playing cards, and watching sports with her grandchildren. She was also a member of Catholic Daughters Association.
Betty leaves behind her three children, Ann (John) Martinko of Canfield, Patricia Donelson of Youngstown, and Floyd J. (Carol) Mancini of Youngstown; nine grandchildren, George, Kimmy, Patrick, Dawn, Keith, Chrissy, David, Raymond, and Dominic; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Patrick C. Mancini, whom she married on Aug. 31, 1945, died in 1997.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two children, Roseann Lewis, and Robert D. Mancini.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
