AUSTINTOWN - Private services were held Friday for Elizabeth West, 86, who died Tuesday afternoon at Hospice House.
Elizabeth was born May 4, 1931, in Dillner, Pa., the daughter of William and Susanne (Orbin) Yelenik.
She grew up Catholic and her faith was always very important to her. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, baking, and hosting holiday dinners. She was an avid shopper, and especially loved garage sales. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds and squirrels outside her home.
Elizabeth's husband, Jackson D. West, whom she married April 22, 1950, died April 28, 2000.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty West of Mineral Ridge and Shirley Langties of Austintown; two sons, Scott West of Austintown and Jackson D. (Nancy) West Jr. of Arizona; two sisters, Betty Wilson of Kirtland and Marge Brunner of Chardon; two grandchildren, Christopher Bryson and Jennifer (Kenis) Keathley; and two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Logan.
Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter Patricia Bryson; sisters Pauline Miller and Frances Sarli; four brothers, Joseph Kormas, and John, Steve and Bill Yelenick; sons-in-law Larry Langties and William R. Bryson; and her four-legged companion, her dog, Harley.
