Ellen F. Rupe, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully departed this life on September 21, 2024, in Warren, OH.
She was born on March 23, 1937, in New Port Richey, FL, to the late Albert and Anetta (Park) Melville. In 1955, Ellen married the love of her life, Gene Richard Rupe.
Ellen was a woman who embraced life with open arms, cherishing every moment spent with her family and in her many pursuits. Her love for attending craft shows, flea markets, and garage sales reflected her keen eye for beauty and creativity. She found great joy in sewing and crafting, pouring her heart into handmade gifts that her loved ones will forever treasure.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters: Renee Polivka and her husband Rex of Lordstown, OH, Kathleen Farrell and her husband Ronald of Fanning Springs, FL, and Jackie Douglas and her husband Terry of Elizabethtown, KY. Ellen was a proud grandmother to Stephanie (Kevin) Murray, Rachael Dorsey, Dustin Dorsey, and Brienne Thornton. Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ian, Aydan, Alexya, Melissa, Arianna, Treydon, and Ashton, who brought immense joy to her life. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Ellen shared a special bond with her brother Dick Melville and his wife Jackie of Pensacola, FL. Ellen's loyal canine companion, Daisy May, stood by her side through life’s many adventures.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Anetta (Park) Melville, her brother Curtis (Joan) Melville, and her loving husband, Gene R. Rupe. She also mourned the loss of her granddaughter, Danielle Ashley, whose memory remained a precious part of her heart.
Ellen's life was a testament to the power of love and creativity. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her warm smile, indomitable spirit, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her. As we gather to honor her memory, we take solace in the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind—a guiding light in our hearts forever.
