Youngstown - There will be services Monday at 12 PM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel and at 12:30 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Elsie Gulas, 83, of the Paisley House, who passed away early Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Elsie was born September 2, 1923 in Richville, PA, a daughter of John and Mary Toth.
Elsie is a 1940 graduate of Powhantan Point High School. She worked for W.T. Grant as a cashier and at the Paisley House as a cook. Elsie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was a member of the church's Garden Club, Altar and Rosary Society, S.O.A.R and the Senior Citizens. Elsie enjoyed bingo, watching sports, bus trips, and playing cards.
Her husband Steve A. Gulas whom she married September 11, 1946 passed away July 9, 1975.
Elsie is survived by a daughter Linda Richard Morini of Lower Burell, PA; three sons Steve A. Donna Gulas Jr. of Canfield, John S. Chesney Gulas of Chagrin Falls, and Edward A. Barbara Gulas of Girard; a sister Jean Edward Carden of Louisville, OH; and a brother John Toth of Oregon; ten grandchildren Cari Lynn Needs, Brad Gulas, Chesney A. Gulas, Madeleine Gulas, David Gibson, Timothy Gibson, Diana Savot, Priscilla Morini, Donis Prignon, and Paula Morini; and twelve great grandchildren.
Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; an infant sister Wilma Toth; two sisters Helen Artar and Mary Benedict; and a brother Albert Toth.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 PM and on Monday from 11:30 to 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
