YOUNGSTOWN - Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Elsie Jeane Moss Moretti, 90, who died peacefully Thursday morning at Masternick Memorial Nursing Home.
Elsie was born April 11, 1928, in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Ferguson) Moss.
She spent her life as a homemaker, dedicating her life to her family. She worked briefly in sales for Clarkins and J&J Concessions.
Elsie was a charter member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, a past officer of its senior citizen club, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Austintown Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3298, past officer of District 8 Ladies Auxiliary F.O.E., Cub Scout Den Mother, volunteer for Red Cross Blood drives for over 20 years, and the first full-time secretary to the Austintown Touch Down Club.
Her husband, Patsy L. Moretti, whom she married June 9, 1945, died Sept. 27, 1992.
Elsie is survived by three sons, Eugene (Sandy) Moretti of Lowellville, Joseph (Yvonne) Moretti of Austintown, and James Moretti of Austintown; daughter Catherine (Ed) Peters of McComb, Ill.; sister Isabelle (Roger) Plant of North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Lori Ann Moss, Vince Moretti, Cheryl Hochendoner, Kevin Moretti, Tracie Storey, Jennifer Benford, Marc Moretti, Edward Peters, Joshua Peters, James P. Moretti, and Barrett Moretti; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Patrick Moretti; sisters Louise Daye, Ida Kemble and Betty Goddard; and brothers Earl, Tom, Joseph Jr. and Dave Moss.
Family and friends may call today from 10:30 a.m. to the time of the service at the funeral home.
