Elva Rickard

YOUNGSTOWN ­ Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the
Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Elva E. (Mercer)
Rickard, 87, who passed away Saturday evening at Omni Manor.
Elva was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Moorefield, W.Va., a daughter of the late
Harry P. and Mabel E. (Reel) Crites Sr.
Elva was member of the Community Fellowship Church on Lanterman Road.
Her first husband, Joe E. Mercer, whom she married in August of 1949, passed
away in November of 1981. Her second husband, Ben Rickard, whom she married
in 1994, passed away in 1998.
Elva leaves her three daughters, Janet E. (Ron) Anderson of Lordstown, Judy
E. Mercer of Mineral Ridge, and Joanna E. Mercer Parker of Austintown; a
son; 11 grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a
great-great-grandchild; former son-in-law, Eugene LaNeve; a sister, Katie
Powell of Keyser, and a brother, H. Paige Crites Jr. of Rawlings, Md.
Elva was also preceded in death by a grandson; three sisters, Nancy L.
Paugh, Dorothy B. Barracks and Alice A. Junkins; and a brother, Ludwig L.
Crites.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral
home.
