POLAND - A memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, for Emery J. "Chuck" "Papa" Biroschak, 84, who passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning at his home.
Emery was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of the late Emery and Helen (Yatsco) Biroschak.
Emery graduated from Poland Seminary High School and attended Youngstown State University. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the U.S. Princeton. Emery was a machinist for Youngstown Sheet & Tube, then later, for Packard Electric.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Struthers VFW Post 3538.
When his son was young, he enjoyed coaching Poland Baseball and being active with the Boy Scouts. Emery also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest love was for his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Now he will have an endless amount of time watching his game shows in heaven.
Emery leaves his wife of 60 years, the former Irma J. Dubosh, who he married June 15, 1957; two daughters, Diana Hicks of Struthers and Terri (Paul) Glova of Austin, Texas; a son, David Biroschak of San Bernardino, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Cene, Helen Marie Hird, Austin Glova, Marissa Hird, Abigail Glova, and Jacob Glova; three great-grandchildren, Nathan and Carter Cene, and Harley Hird; and a sister, Patti (Jack) Milliken of Poland.
Emery was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Ellen Balough and Barbara Miner.
The Biroschak family would like to give a special thanks to Emery's doctors and caregivers, especially Elaine Flowers, Marissa Hird, Tammy Shulte, Leslie Howell, Helen Zupko, Nicole Heinlin, Tammy Moffo and Patrice Frederick for all of their love and care.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
Committal services will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
