BESSEMER, PA. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Bessemer for Emily E. Sankovich, 86, who passed away Monday evening at Assumption Village.
Emily was born June 26, 1926, in New Castle, Pa., a daughter of the late Anton and Marija Dujmovich Sankovich.
Emily graduated from Bessemer High School. She was an engineer for Bell Telephone in Pennsylvania and retired in 1984.
She was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, an honorary lifetime member of the Bessemer Croatian Club, and lifetime member of the Verizon Pioneers President's Circle.
Emily leaves a sister, Ann George Kukula of San Bernadino, Calif.; seven nieces; and four nephews.
Emily was also proceeded in death by two sisters, Helen Pherson and Katherine Pusnik; and two brothers, Rudolph and John Sankovich.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Material tributes may take the form of donations to Catholic Charities or the Bishop's Relief Fund.
