AUSTINTOWN ? Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel with Bruce Rhodes officiating for Eric J. Adkins, 26, who died Tuesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Eric was born in Salem on Aug. 4, 1983, the son of the former Rachel Adkins.
He was a 2003 graduate of Springfield Local High School and a 2005 graduate of ITT Technical Institute, specializing in Computer Engineering. Eric was currently enrolled and attending the Youngstown State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
He was an avid golfer, loved computer games, and enjoyed every ride on his Quad or his street bike.
Eric is survived by his mother and stepfather, Rachel Wiegreff and Don Bucci of Portersville, Pa.; a sister, Brittany Wiegreff; stepbrothers, Donald T., Perry and Shawn Wiegreff; his grandparents, Larry and Mary Adkins of Lake Milton; two aunts, Ida Jeff Byrne of Tampa, Fla. and Jackie Richard Sims of Calcutta; an uncle, Justin Adkins of Petersburg; five cousins, Paul, Bill, Timmy, Robbie and Little Jay; his companion, Samantha Courtney of Salem; and his faithful K-9 companion, Halo.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Angels for Animals or to the family to be used for Depression Awareness and Prevention.
