CANFIELD ? Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Ernest R. Moore, 85, who passed away Aug. 31, 2009 at his home.
Ernest was born Dec. 21, 1923 in Speedwell, Tenn., the son of James and Cora McCarty Moore.
Ernest worked for U.S. Silica in Rockwood, Mich., and was purchaser of the company and owned Moore?s Restaurant in Monroe, Mich. Before retiring, Ernest was co-owner of Sav A Step Food Mart for 10 years. He was a member of yhr Highway Tabernacle.
His wife, the former Eva Mae Smith, whom he married Nov. 1, 1946, passed away March 18, 2009.
Ernest leaves a daughter, Wanda Ahmad "Mike"Abou-Osman of Canfield; a son, Robert Allen Cindy Moore of Orange Park, Fla.; two sisters, Anna Mae Standifer of Monroe and Shirley Meadors of Carlton, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his daughter, Patricia Faye Hutchcraft on Sept. 7, 2009.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
