POLAND - Prayers will begin Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church for Eugene S. Geister, 82, who died Friday at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Eugene was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Youngstown, the son of John and Mary Kurowski Geister.
Gene was the co-owner of Foreman Tool and Die on McClurg Road for over 40 years, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, was an avid bowler and golfer and had been involved in area Sokol activities and leagues.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Kasperko, whom he married Oct. 2, 1948; a daughter, Wendy Christopher Rossvanes of Canfield, two sons, Gene Janet Geister of Boardman and Eric Johanna Geister of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Florence Price of Austintown and LaVerne Marmarinos of St. Louis; and six grandchildren, Adam, Ian, Luke, Ben, Meghan and Nate.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Geister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel.
