DEKALB, ILL. Eva M. Hudson, 94, passed away, March 5, 2009, at DeKalb Area Retirement Center.
She was born May 3, 1914 in Scottdale, Pa., the daughter of John J. and Maude A. Owens Menster.
Eva married Melvin J. Hudson July 27, 1935 in Pittsburgh.
Eva was formerly employed as a nurse at St. Elizabeth¹s Health Center, working for Drs. Gambrel, LaPore and Karmindro in Obstetrics. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Newman Catholic Student Center, both of DeKalb, Catholic Daughter¹s of America, DeKalb County Hospice and Kishwaukee Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne ³Susie² Bernie Pupino of DeKalb; four grandchildren, Scott Lynette Pupino of Oak Park, Ill., Amy Salvatore Natale of Chicago and Julie Hudson of Washington, D.C. and Dawn Hudson of Maryland; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Jacobs-Li of Oak Park and Elizabeth Pupino of Oak Park; one brother, Jack Lucille Menster of Youngstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her son, Melvin; three brothers, Joseph, Ralph and Edward Menster; and her parents.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Saint Michael Catholic Church of Canfield, with Fr. Terrence Hazel officiating.
Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Eva M. Hudson in care of the Anderson Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 605, DeKalb, IL 60115.
Local arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
