Eva Josephine Packard
AUSTINTOWN Services will be held for Eva Josephine Packard at 9:30 a.m.
Thursday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel and at 10
a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Austintown, who passed away
at Humility House on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008.
Eva was born in Pierce, W.Va. on June 13, 1919, the daughter of Venanzio and
Josephine Troia Mancini.
She graduated from Thomas High School in Thomas, W.Va. For nine years, Eva
was employed at the 7UP Bottling Company as an inspector, then at Easco
Aluminum in Youngstown for 16 years, retiring in 1981.
As a charter member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, she belonged to
the Senior Citizens Group, and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a
member of the Raccoon Road Block Rosary Group.
Her husband, Peter, whom she married in 1940, passed away in 1964.
She leaves a daughter, Donna J. Mastromatteo Vincent and a son, Peter P.
Packard III, both of Austintown. Besides her children, Eva also leaves three
granddaughters, Francine Packard, Melina Orr Bob and Eva Maria
Mastromatteo and a grandson, Peter Packard Lisa. There are four
great-grandchildren, Natalie Rose and Olivia Patricia Orr, and Gianna Marie
and Gino Anthony Packard. Eva also leaves two sisters and a brother, Mrs.
Rita Mattaliano and Mrs. Ramona Frollo Mike of Trenton, N.J. and a
brother, Bill Mancini of Brown Mills, N.J.
Her sisters, Antoinette Roccisano of New York, Francis DeVivo of Fort Myers,
Fla., Edith Capodici, Elsie Angelini, and Mary Garcia, all of Trenton, are
deceased, along with two brothers, Jim Mangin of Trenton and John Mangin of
Washington, Pa.
Calling hours are at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home in Austintown on
Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery following the Mass at the church.
