NORTH JACKSON - Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Federated Church in North Jackson for Evelyn Ruggles, 93, who passed away Monday at her home.
Evelyn was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Caldwell, the daughter of the late Dewey and Stella (Brown) Caldwell.
Evelyn graduated from Belle Valley High School in 1940. She worked at Alliance Manufacturing during the war.
She married Stewart Ruggles in 1948.
Evelyn was a member of the First Federated Church, Jackson Township Firemen Ladies Auxiliary, and the V.F.W. Post 9571 of Ellsworth Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting and playing cards.
Evelyn is survived by her son, David (Toni) Ruggles of Salem; a daughter-in-law, Gail Ruggles (Ralph) Kays of Florida; five grandchildren, Christina Miller, Steven (Renee) Ruggles, Zachary, Colton and MacKenzie Ruggles; three great-granddaughters, Sabrina Miller, Abby and Macy Ruggles; two brothers, Edwin Caldwell of Caldwell and Harold (Thelma) Caldwell of Mount Vernon; a sister, Anna Mae Given of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Wanda Ruggles; and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband and her son, Larry Ruggles.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, North Jackson Chapel, and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Federated Church.
