NEW MIDDLETOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church for Fanny K. Febo, 83, who died early Sunday morning at home, surrounded by her family.
Fanny was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Herbert and Genevieve (Paninski) Shives.
She worked for the Mahoning County Probate Court as a clerk for 15 years until retiring. Fanny was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church and the Eagle's Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, and playing bocce at St. Anthony.
Her husband, Joseph F. Febo Sr., whom she married Jan. 6, 1951, died May 26, 1986.
Fanny is survived by four daughters, Jeanne Febo of New Middletown, Suzanne (Frank) Mikitaw of Boardman, Mary Ann Rice of North Carolina, and Carolyn (Tom) Febo-Brown of New Middletown; two sons, Samuel (Marlane) Febo of Youngstown and Jospeh (Brenda) Febo of Austintown; son-in-law Robert Purfey Sr. of Boardman; sister Patricia (James) Scarpine of Virginia Beach; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Febo of Austintown and Betty Febo of Liberty; brother Herbert Shives of Youngstown; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Joann Febo Purfey; brothers Thomas and Lawrence Shives; sisters-in-law, Loretta Febo Shives and Vincy Febo Allegretto; and brothers-in-law Rocky Febo, Nicholas Febo, Fred "Turk" (Clara) DeAngelo.
Family and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, and Wednesday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
