POLAND - A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Poland Riverside Cemetery, for Faye Ellen Garrett Costarell, 71, died at 10:15 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Masternick Memorial in New Middletown.
She was born Sept. 22, 1942, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of Gerald and Shirley Stowe Garrett.
Faye was a graduate of New Wilmington High School and later earned an Associates degree in Business from Youngstown State University. She worked many years for Youngstown State University as a secretary and administrative assistant to the Chemical Engineering Department, Williamson School of Business, and Maag Library.
Faye was active in local history and family genealogy, accruing detailed accounts of her hometown of Pulaski, Pa. and family. For many years she was the American Field Service and housed two exchange students, Humberto Juarez of Mexico and Maria Rebolledo of Venezuela.
Her husband, John Costarell, whom she married June 12, 1965, died on Nov. 28, 2011.
She is survived by three sons, Sean (Joanna) Costarell of Leander, Texas, Michael Costarell of Pulaski, Pa., and Thomas (Jennifer) Costarell of Austintown; five grandchildren, Aimee, Johnny, Allyson, and Thomas, and Joseph Costarell; and six siblings, Jack (Margie) Garrett of Poland, Dale (Pat) Garrett of New Springfield, Wayne (Jane) Garrett of Walterboro, S.C., Mark (Cathy) Garrett of Bradford, Pa., Rance (Kathi) Garrett of Riverside, Calif., and Heidi (Jim) Stewart of Volant, Pa.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, at the Higgins Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road, Poland.
Burial will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Bair Foundation Child & Family Ministries at 245 High St, New Wilmington, PA 16142.
