BOARDMAN - Prayers will begin Tuesday morning at 10:15 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Church for Florence L. Reardon age 84 who passed away Friday morning at the Hospice House.
Florence was born October 23, 1923 in Youngstown, the daughter of George W. and Aurelia Ward Dell.
She was a 1941 graduate of Wilson High School where she was a cheerleader. She began her 37 year retail career at the Strouss Department store in Youngstown, after decades of faithful service she retired from Kauffmans in the Souther Park Mall. Although Flo did not realize her wish of becoming a Rockette, she was a Can-Can dancer and was named Miss Strauss after winning its pageant.
Florence was devout in her religious faith, a former member of St. Dominic and a current active member of St. Charles where she served as a eucharistic minister and was a member of the Seton Circle III. Always generous with her time she had also volunteered at Beeghly Medical Park. Flo was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling, she was a member of the Millcreek, Valley, and the Mohawk Golf League and the St. Charles Bowling League,
She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by five daughters; Susann Dr. Larry Spoljaric of Wadsworth, Barbara J. Raymond Villani of Boardman, Jayne Dell Sinchak of Boardman, Molly Reardon of Boardman, and Beth Reardon of San Antonio, TX, two sons; Joseph W. Margaret Reardon of Newport, Arkansas, and Patrick Peggy Jo Reardon of Hudson, a brother William Bess Dell of East Moline, Illinois, sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Her husband Joseph W. Reardon whom she married November 22, 1947 died August 4, 1974.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister Anne M. Slattery, two brothers; Gearge W. Dell Jr. and Raymond P. Dell.
The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to the Hospice House in Florence's memory.
Friends may call Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM until 10:15 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
