Florence Shields

Youngstown-Services will begin Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for Florence L. Shields age 95 formerly of Youngstown who passed away Friday morning at Green's Nursing Home in Lyndhurst, Ohio. Florence was born October 12, 1912 in Youngstown, the daughter of Pasquale and Adeline Antonelli Marinelli. She had worked as buyer in the lingerie department of the former McKelvey Department Store in Youngstown. She had also been a member of Jesu Catholic Church in University Heights, Ohio.
Her husband Robert W. Shields whom she married November 27, 1947 preceded her in death in 2005.
She is survived by her son Robert and his wife Kathleen Shields of Shaker Hights, Ohio and three grandchildren; Elizabeth McDonnell, Britany Shields and Robert Shields III. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Flocco and three brothers; Louis, Joseph and Vincent Marinelli.
