FLORENCE 'FLO' B. VULICH
CANFIELD - Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church, for Florence Vulich. After a deeply rewarding and fruitful life, Florence "Flo" B. Vulich, 76, passed on Thursday, Nov. 29.
She leaves her husband, David Vulich, whom she married on Dec. 26, 1959.
The daughter of the late Clara and Michael Iafigliola, she was born and raised in Cleveland.
Educated at Holy Redeemer School and Notre Dame Academy, Florence also received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Home Economics from Notre Dame College in June of 1958.
During her career, Mrs. Vulich taught home economics at Wilson Junior High School in Cleveland for several years before embarking on a sales career with Stanley Home Products in 1961. She had been a valued independent sales person and manager with Stanley Home Products/Fuller Brush for 51 years and was recognized on numerous occasions by the company for her outstanding business accomplishments.
When her husband was transferred to the General Motors Lordstown facility in 1970, the family settled in Boardman and in recent years moved to Canfield.
A woman of undying faith in God, she lived her life helping others. Mrs. Vulich was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman, and served the parish community as the past president of both the St. Charles Ladies Guild and the St. Charles Home and School Association. In addition, Florence was a member of the St. Charles Garden Club and was actively involved in the Marriage Encounter and the St. Charles Mission Circle No. 1. She was a Eucharistic Minister for the church and its homebound parishioners. Mrs. Vulich also participated in the Kent State Mothers Group, and a couples club known as the Crazy 8's.
With food and cooking as her passion, Mrs. Vulich had an extensive collection of cookbooks. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, dancing, baking and sewing.
In addition to her spouse of 52 years, she was also a dedicated mother and grandmother. Mrs. Vulich leaves three daughters, Nadine David Nees of Sylvania, Laura Humphrey Fradl of North Canton and Claudia Brian Coote of Wadsworth and a son, David A. of Canfield. She is also survived by her sister, Teresa Iafigliola of Willoughby. Mrs. Vulich leaves six grandchildren, Leah and David Nees, Andrea and Gina Fradl, and Alaina and Brian Coote, whom she adored. Florence was a beloved aunt and great-aunt and a trusted and loyal friend to many. She was particularly fond of her three "grandpets," Maxine, Chip and Lilly. who provided cheer during her final days.
Family and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Internment will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to the staff of MVI Hospicecare, who lovingly offered assistance, compassion and encouragement to their mother, along with Dr. Gregory Zinni, Dr. Antoine Chahine and the Blood and Cancer Center staff, and to Dr. Kenneth Lane of Humility of Mary Health Partners.
