CANFIELD - Francis D. Imburgia Sr., 83, died April 25, 2024 at Windsor Nursing Home surrounded by his family.
Born on April 15, 1941, in Monessen, PA, the son of Charles and Marie (Yannito) Imburgia.
Francis graduated from Monessen High School in 1959.
Francis dedicated an impressive 42 years of service as an electrician at General Motors before retiring in 2006. His commitment to his work was a reflection of his strong work ethic and determination. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Francis had a passion for classic cars and was actively involved in the Salem Elks #305 and the Valley Cruisers Car Club 15 years. He found solace and satisfaction in making knives and woodworking, showcasing his creativity and attention to detail. Francis found great joy in spending time outdoors, particularly enjoying moments on his beloved tractor.
Family was at the center of Francis's world. He is survived by his loving wife, former Geraldine "Gerry" Patrick, with whom he shared many precious moments since their marriage on October 4, 1961. His legacy lives on through his children: daughter Pamela (Wayne) Gorby of Berlin Center; sons Francis D. (Tina) Imburgia Jr. of Canfield and Christopher G. Imburgia of Austintown. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Natalie (Ronald) Penwell of Martinsburg, WV.
Francis's memory will also be cherished by seven grandchildren: Brian Gorby, Michael (Abby) Gorby, Katelynn (Brandon Goodnight) Imburgia, Kimi (Derek) Gorman, Samantha Imburgia (Josh Roman), Kristen Imburgia (Chet Nelson), and Anthony Meghan) Imburgia; as well as seven great-grandchildren: Sophia Gorby, Giovanni Roman, Angelo Roman, Gracelyn Gorman, Luke Nelson, Madelyn Gorman, and Lettie Imburgia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert (Susan) Imburiga.
A visitation to honor Francis D. Imburgia Sr.'s life will be held at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, on Monday, April 29th, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday, April 30th from 9 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial tributes take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
