CANFIELD — Frank G. Dravecky, 93, died Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Caprice Health Care Center.
He was born June 4, 1930, in Youngstown, a son of Andrew John and Veronica Klimko Dravecky.
Frank was a 1947 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He married the love of his life, Donna Marie Dublino, on July 7, 1951. They were happily married for 72 years. She preceded him in death, April 30, 2020.
Throughout his life, Frank was known for his dedication and hard work as the owner and operator of Falmer Screw Products, and he leaves behind a commendable legacy in the business world.
Frank was an avid golfer and a member of Fonderlac Country Club (now the Lake Club), where he spent many joyful hours on the golf course. Additionally, Frank was part of the St. Christine’s Golf League, where he formed lasting friendships and cherished memories. He also enjoyed traveling with Donna to his second home in Naples, Florida, where he worked and golfed for many years at Shadow Wood Country Club.
Frank also played a pivotal role in constructing the Field of Dreams and was a vital member of Boardman Community Baseball. For many years after his retirement, he would volunteer his time cutting the fields and offering advice and guidance to players as well as coaches. One of Frank’s proudest accomplishments was being awarded the Little League Parents of the Year award and being honored at the Little League World Series. This recognition was a testament to his unwavering support for youth sports.
To know Frank was to love him. He had the unique ability to make people feel special. He was always ready to share a charming story or tidbit for everyone he knew. His kind and warm nature made him admired by many.
Most importantly he was the ultimate father and grandpa. He was so proud of his children, and especially his grandchildren. He supported all of their ventures and beamed with pride at all of their accomplishments.
Frank is survived by his five sons, David (Janice) of Arizona, Richard (Kathleen) of Canfield, Frank (Lori) of Manitou, Colorado, Joe (Gina) of Austintown and George (Jenn) of Boardman; nine grandchildren, Tiffany (Adam) Vartanyan, Jonathan (Joy) Dravecky, Vince (Kendra) Dravecky, Frankie III (Candace) Dravecky, Amy (Steve) Armour, Madison and Tanner Dravecky, Bethany and Caleb Hollmon; eight great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Sister Georgette Dublino of Pittsburgh.
In addition to his parents and wife, Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Dravecky; and brother, Andrew (Betty Jean) Dravecky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Parish in Boardman, where calling hours will be held prior, from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
