BOARDMAN - A Mass for the repose of the soul of Frank S. Holzschuh "Mr. Hoss," 68, who died Wednesday evening at the Cleveland Clinic, will be celebrated Thursday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, with the Rev. Monsignor Michael Cariglio officiating.
Frank was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Catherine Teutsch Holzschuh.
He was a 1966 graduate of Chaney High School and retired as a truck driver with Aerotech mechanical contractors and Teamsters Local No. 377. Frank was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Bergagna, whom he married April 15, 1967; a daughter, Gina (Kevin) Kairys of Goshen Township; a son, John (Susan) Holzschuh of Boardman; four grandchildren, Colten Kairys, Camille, Angelina and Nico Holzschuh; mother-in-law Nell Bergagna; brothers-in-law Bob and Tom Bergagna; sister-in-law Jane (Jim) Michalek; and his dog, Molly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Holzschuh, and grandson Caleb Kairys.
Frank's family would like to thank the staff at Briarfield at Ashley Place for their compassionate and professional care during his stay.
