AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for Frank Mackovine, 75, who passed away Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Frank was born Aug. 25, 1937, in Youngstown, a son of the late George and Anna (Florie) Mackovine.
Frank lived in the area his whole life. He was employed by the Youngstown Steel Door Co. from 1966 to 1983, the Youngstown Developmental Center (YDC) from 1983 to 1998 and by the Westchester Apartments in maintenance from 1998 to 2004, before retiring. Frank's retirement included keeping up his manicured lawn and flowers, and taking care of his neighbors, all of whom will miss him.
Frank leaves behind a son, Frank J. (Lisa) Mackovine of Columbus; his wife, the former Linda L. Williams, whom he married April 11, 1995, and her daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Ruby of Youngstown and Rachelle Plant of Austintown; and four grandchildren, Lexie and Madison Mackovine, Rhiannon Wade and Kenshin Salus.
Frank was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Katherine Mackovine, the mother of his son Frank, in 1994.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
