Frank Mehle

AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at St. Columba Cathedral for Frank J. Mehle age 89 of the Humility House who passed away Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Frank was born July 13, 1916, in Youngstown, the son of Martin and Helen Berna Mehle.
Frank had served in the Navy during W.W.II as a Pharmacists Mate, and had worked as a group leader and vicing foreman at the US Steel McDonald Works for 42 years before retiring in 1978. After his retirement from US Steel he had worked for the Austintown Board of Education at the Davis Elementary School for over seven years. Mr. Mehle also had worked as an assistant at the Higgins Funeral Homes for over 50 years beginning in 1936. He was a member of St. Columba Parish, the Sam Camens Center, and the West Side Senior Citizens.
His wife the former Bertha Wuckovich, whom he married November 20, 1941, died April 16, 1996.
He is survived by a daughter Kathleen F. and her husband Edward Quinn of Lexington, KY, a son Colonel F. Douglas Mehle U.S. Army, retired, and his wife Laura of Gulf Breeze, FL, four grandchildren, Annette Rose Siegel, Kathleen O'Hare, Edward Quinn, and Laraine Quinn, and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Susanne Mehle Corder, two sisters Frances Doblekar, and Mary Ballard, and four brothers, Martin, Joseph, Anthony, and Andrew Mehle.
Friends may call from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday morning at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
