AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Frank F. Sackela, 69, who died suddenly Friday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
Frank was born Aug. 7, 1946, in Allentown, Pa., the son of Frank and Margaret Sackela Sr.
He was a graduate of Chaney High School. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. Frank worked on the assembly line at General Motors for 37 years until retiring in 2006. Frank was a hard worker and enjoyed working around the house.
He is survived by his wife, the former Susan Hudgins, whom he shared nearly 30 years with and married Feb. 24, 2010; a daughter, Kara (Roger) Warner of Deerfield; seven sons, Kirk Sackela of Mineral Ridge, Frank Sackela of Youngstown, Mike Sackela of Austintown, Dave Crawford of Youngstown, John (Belki) Hudgins of Florida, Steve (Amy) Crawford of Austintown and Rex (Gretchen) Crawford of Austintown; a sister, Irene Schwartzoff of Chicago; and 13 grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
