POLAND - A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church in Poland for Mr. Frank J. Sybelnik Jr., 58, who died Tuesday at home.
He was born April 18, 1954, in Youngstown, a son of Frank J. and Claire Zajac Sybelnik Sr.
Frank was a 1972 graduate of Struthers High School and graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science in Business Administration degree, with a major in Accounting.
He was a self employed CPA and was one of the partners with Stader, Kish and Sybelnik in Youngstown. He was a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Before starting his own practice, Frank worked for Everflow Eastern Partners LP and Gasearch Inc.
Frank was a well known golfer, competing in local, regional and state tournaments, along with league play at Yankee Run and Knoll Run Golf Club. A low single digit Handicap golfer, Frank and partner Jim Maughan won the competitive Transit Golf Group League Championship during the 2011 golf season. Among other golf accomplishments, Frank had a hole in one on the 205 yard No. 5 hole at Knoll Run GC during a recent golf event. In 2009 Frank competed and placed fifth in the USGA Senior Open Amateur Qualifier. Frank's competitive nature will be missed by his many friends.
He leaves his father, Frank Sr. of Struthers; his mom, Claire of Struthers; his wife, the former Denise Colonna, whom he married July 10, 1993; a daughter, Traci Travis of Avon; two sons, Frank J. Amanda Sybelnik III of Boardman and Matthew Sybelnik of Struthers; a sister, Victoria Sybelnik and her husband, Francis Henkels of Westport, Conn.; a brother, Daniel and his wife, Tammie of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Bobby, Hope and Shawn Ramsey, Gavin, Shane and Lilah Sybelnik, and Adele Roe; and a niece, Sophia Henkels.
Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
