Frank Vitikas

Austintown - Prayers will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home Austintown Chapel followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church in Austintown for Frank E. Vitikas, 88, who passed away Wednesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a brief illness.

Frank was born August 23, 1920 in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Mary Brandobur Vitikas.

Frank was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Grade School and a 1939
graduate of Chaney High School. He attended Youngstown University. He was a former member of the Saxon Club. He was an honorary member of the Catholic War Veterans and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3298. He was a member of St. Joseph Church and was an usher for many years and was a member of their Men's Club. Frank loved to golf. He had two sanctioned hole-in-ones, one was when he was 77. He also was an avid sports fan.

Frank leaves his wife the former Edna Houck whom he married June 9, 1962; a daughter Joan Thomas Ferritto of Cleveland; a step-daughter Pat Ralph Khourie of Columbus; two brothers Stephen Mary Vitikas of Tuscon, AZ and Edward Joyce Vitikas of Ellsworth; three grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters Helen Vitikas, Mary Labuda, Sister Mary Alberta V.S.C.; and a brother Joe Vitikas.

Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
