Fred Lombardo

AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church for Fred A. Lombardo, 88, who passed away Sunday evening at his home.

Fred was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Youngstown, to Samuel and Concetta Conti Lombardo.

Fred graduated from The Rayen School. He was a veteran in the Army, serving in World War II in the Gunners Mate First Class. Fred was a crane operator for Republic Steel Tuscon Division. He was a member of St. Joseph Church.

Fred leaves his wife, the former Josephine M. Vigeon, whom he married May 4, 1946; three daughters, Jean Robert Tatarka of North Carolina, Karen George Purdy of Newton Falls and Joann William Hunter of Austintown; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Lombardo; four brothers; and six sisters.

Family and friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, material tributes may take the form of donations to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

Arrangements are being handled by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
