BOARDMAN - Fredrick Perry Smith, 75, passed away on Sunday Jan 28, from a battle with cancer.
Fred was born Nov. 26, 1942, a son to Helen B. and Perry F. Smith from Kittanning, Pa.
Fred was employed for 44 years at YHA/ Forum Health as a truck driver and retired in 2007 with a lot of good memories and good friendships as well.
Fred was preceded in death by brother Allen, sister Sandy, both parents Perry and Helen, and stepson Richard.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Gloria J. Smith, whom he married on Feb 13, 1988; son Fredrick and wife Barb; son Michael; stepson Brian Kelly; six grandchildren, Richard, Monica, Jeremy, Kayla, Tyler, and Autumn; sister Darlene; brother William and wife Nancy; and his beloved dog, Murphy.
Calling hours will take place on Feb. 10, 2018, at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, 2726 Center Road from 2 to 4 p.m. for friends and family to honor his memory. No viewing will take place as Fred was cremated in Texas.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, to make a donation to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406, in his honor.
