CANFIELD - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christine Church for Frederick J. Wolf, 81, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday morning at Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.

"Fred" was born Nov. 7, 1936, in Altoona, Pa., the son of Frederick "Fritz" and Mary (Glass) Wolf.

He worked for General Motors as an autoworker and W.E.M.R. for 36.3 years from 1970 to March 1, 1993.

Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 1959 to 1961.

Fred was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3298. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and watching hummingbirds in the yard. Fred also had a great interest in investing in the stock market.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Brenda (Thomas) Hoover of Austintown; three sons, Terrance (Marsha) Wolf of Boardman, Randy (Janice) Wolf of Leetonia, and Richard (Robyn) Wolf of Boardman; three sisters, Mary (Fritz) Bajer of Chicago, Florence Zeak of Altoona and Rosie (Bill) of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Kristyn, Jacob, David, Steven, Sarah, Jessica, Amanda, Larissa and Cody; one great-granddaughter, Madilyn; and his furry companion, his cat, Twinkles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Gnapp), whom he married June 20, 1959; his parents; several brothers; mother-in-law, Olga Olson; and two brother-in-laws, James Hammond and Gerald Gnapp.

Family and friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

The family would like to especially thank Fred's sister-in-law, Deborah Hammond, for her devotion and compassionate care shown to him. They would also like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Valley for all of their excellent care.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
