Gail Powers

GIRARD - Gail A. Powers, who departed this life on April 20, 2025, at the age of 89.

Born on August 9, 1935, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Raymond and Letha Malcomb Baldwin.

A proud graduate of Boardman High School, Gail went on to pursue her education at Youngstown State University. Over the years, she became a familiar face in the local retail scene.

Gail was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church. She found joy in making ceramics, a hobby that brought beauty and joy to those around her. Every year, she eagerly anticipated the Canfield Fair, a cherished local tradition that she enjoyed participating in alongside her family.

Above all, Gail's greatest love was for her family. She was a proud mother, and a doting grandmother, affectionately known as "Gruck" to her grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in sharing life's moments with them, big and small.

She is survived by her beloved son, John R. (Vicki) Powers of Girard; two grandchildren, Patrick and Jessica Powers; three great grandchildren, Shane, Nathan, and Gage; and her sister, Raylene Hummel.

Along with her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Powers, whom she married December 1, 1957 and passed away June 25, 2021; son, Timothy Powers; granddaughter, Angela Powers; and brother, Willy Baldwin.

Calling hours will be held at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, on April 25, 2025, from 4 to 6 PM.
