Gary Conrad

YOUNGSTOWN - Gary L. Conrad, age 72, passed away on January 28, 2025.

Born on July 30, 1952, in Salem, a son of the late, Sam and Mary Conrad.

Gary was a dedicated son, husband, father, and grandfather whose impact on his family and community will be felt for generations.

A proud graduate of Western Reserve High School, Gary embarked on a lifelong career as a bus mechanic, a profession he cherished and continued after his father retired. His love for classic cars was matched only by his enthusiasm for the Cleveland Browns, which brought him joy and camaraderie with friends and family alike.

In addition to family gatherings, Gary enjoyed the thrill of visiting the casino and the challenge of crossword puzzles, activities that kept his spirit lively and engaged.

Gary deeply cherished his wife, Nancy Williams Conrad, whom he married May 27, 1989; his three children, Shelly Conrad Clawson of Struthers, Ron (Jen) Fantone of Canton, Jason (Karey) Fantone of Canfield; his six grandchildren, Vince (Autumn), whom he helped raise for over ten years, who he thought more as a son then a grandson and taught him to be the man he is today, as well as Alexis, Dominic, Bella, Bradley, and Khloe and a sister, Carol (Daryl) Brobst.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Fantone.

Per Gary's wishes, there will be no services.
