BOARDMAN - Memorial services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel for George D. Barker, 71, who died suddenly Wednesday afternoon at his home.
George was born May 16, 1941 in Lumberport, W.Va., the son of Carl and Margaret Haught Barker.
George served in the U.S. Army and later began his career at Fisher Body. He had worked as a supervisor at the Fisher Body plants in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and then at Lordstown, retiring after 33 years. He was a member of St. Charles Church and the Fisher Body Retiree Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Constance Paolella, whom he married June 10, 1961; two daughters, Carla Dent III Holden of Pittsburgh and Amy James III of Youngstown; a sister, Mary Jo Keener of Willoughby; and seven grandchildren, Dent, Sarah, Carl, Hannah, Madeline, Jamie and James IV.
Friends may call Saturday for one hour prior to services at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
