CANFIELD-Services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 PM at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, and at 2:00 PM at St. Michael Church for George T. Brown age 75 of Canfield who passed away Friday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
George was born August 2, 1929, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of George and Grace Donohue Brown.
After graduating from Xavier University in 1954 with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army. Following his military service he was a teacher and head basketball, and track coach at Akron Hoban High School. He later founded the Mr. Packaging Corporation in 1981 and had served as its CEO until the time of his illness. He was a member of St. Michael Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife the former Agnes Woll whom he married August 9, 1958, three daughters, Peggy and husband Mike Williams of Denver, CO, Mary Ellen and husband Tom McKay of St. Louis, MO., and Patty and husband Ron Creatore of Chapel Hill, NC, a son Pete Brown of Columbus, seven grandchildren Bobby, Ally, Andrew, Alex, Matthew, Marissa, and Maddie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM Monday, and from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Tuesday at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
