AUSTINTOWN - Services will be Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for George Sarantinos Kay, 87, who died Tuesday morning at Hospice House.
George was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Indianapolis, the son of Steve and Kaliope Sarantinos.
In the 50s, he was the lead singer and drummer for the George Kay Trio. He was also the owner operator of King Kar Motors Inc. since 1968. George served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Croatian Club.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Mark Kay of Sharpsville, Pa.; his daughter and son in law, Linda and Joe Kalis of Austintown; five grandchildren, Christopher, April, Brandon, Lora and Milan; seven great-grandchildren, Julian, Alec, Zach, Jasmine, Lilly, Corbin and Lila; and his faithful dog, Daisy.
His wife of 45 years, Margaret C. Sebastion Kay, died March 11, 1990.
He was also preceded in death by his companion of 18 years, Mary DeLucia and two sisters, Mary and Sophia Sarantinos.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel.
