AUSTINTOWN - Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel for George J. Mank, 91, who passed away Sunday at his home.
George was born Nov. 19, 1921, in Baltimore.
George served in the Army during World War II. He was owner and operator of Belmont Bakery. After closing the bakery, he was a manger for American General Insurance for 15 years. George then returned to being a baker for Fazio's, Sparkles and then Butter Maid Bakery.
His wife, the former Edna Marie Nicholson, whom he married Dec. 23, 1944, passed away March 16, 2009.
George leaves his daughter, Sandy David Slick of Austintown; two sons, Ronald Donna Mank of Salem and George Joyce Mank of Chicago; six grandchildren, Ronnie, Evan, Sherry, Vincent, Bryan and Michael; two great-grandchildren, Tyra and Whitney; and a great-great-granddaughter, Marlea.
George was also preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Evelyn and Hilda.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
