He grew up on a farm in Zanesville, where he was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. In later years, he was welcomed into the home of his granddaughter, Charlene and her husband George, allowing him to enjoy many happy years of festive family gatherings and loving care, as well as a special relationship with the St. Michael's Catholic Church family, in Richmond, Va.
Left to carry on his legacy of faith, courage, and love of family and country, are his daughter-in-law, Patricia Peters; his six grandchildren, George William Reese III (Debbie), Char (George), Pam (Lee), Brian (Keira), Mike (Megan), Matt (Kate); his 20 great-grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon), Courtney, Amanda, Mark, Melissa, Nikki, Maria, Tresa, Charlie, Noah, Isaac George, Maya, Andrew, Benjamin George, William George, Elisabeth, Kate, Finn, Thomas George, and Emma; two great-great-granddaughters, Ryleigh and Sadie; two great-grandchildren on the way; and his very dear friend, Opal Roberts.
