Geraldine Gmitra

POLAND - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church for Geraldine "Gerri" M. Gmitra, 90, who passed away Wednesday at Sunrise Nursing Home.

Gerri was born March 17, 1926, in Poland, a daughter of the late Shuman and Margaret (Russell) Stiver.

Gerri graduated from Poland Seminary High School. She retired as an insurance clerk from Republic Steel. Gerri loved sewing and going to Bingo.

Her husband, Arnold A. Gmitra, whom she married Aug. 4, 1954, passed away Oct. 3, 2001.

Gerri is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Robert) Krcelic of Poland; three grandchildren, Khristine, Laura and Nicholas Krcelic; three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, and Brian; and a sister, Shirley (Russ) Rosenau of Berea.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Arnold A. Gmitra Jr. and a sister, Betty Lou Alm.

Family and friends may call Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.
