YOUNGSTOWN - Prayers will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, for Geraldine "Gerry" McCracken, 65, who went to be with the Lord on Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Gerry was born on March 5, 1947, the daughter of Seigmend T. and Mary H. Kos Melewski.

She was a proud 1965 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School.

Gerry was employed by Strouss Department Store, Pepsi Cola, and Youngstown Cartage Company. She enjoyed going to Mountaineer Casino with her family an friends.

She was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the Austintown Eagles No. 3298. She enjoyed making ceramics and had a lifelong love for cats.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry D. McCracken, whom she married Nov. 11, 1978; and her brother, Ted Melewski. She leaves three step-daughters, Bonnie Jones, Dawn Tentinger, and Kelly McCracken; a step-son, Patrick McCracken; and her step-grandchildren. Also to cherish her memory is her brother, Raymond R. Melewski. Her nieces and nephews will always treasure the memories they had with her, as will her great-nieces and nephews and many friends that have been lucky enough to have had her in their lives.

Family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial tributes take the form of donations to Westside Cats, 2217 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, OH 44509.
