AUSTINTOWN - Mrs. Geraldine M. "Mama Moose" Thomas, 87, died Thursday morning at Hospice House.
She was born March 16, 1927, in Youngstown, a daughter of Cyril and Myrtle Foley Williams.
Mama Moose graduated from South High School, was the owner of the Purple Moose Saloon, and had worked for Waldon Management as a manager at the Westchester Apartments, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Boardman Baptist Church. She enjoyed her computer and doing crafts, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Geraldine leaves a daughter, Jennifer (Tom) Davidson of Columbiana, and two other daughters; one son, Richard (Sandie Bianconi) Thomas of Niles; seven grandchildren, Estee Thomas, Natalie, Nicholas and Joseph Wright, James Berry, Angela Plant and Brandon Garland; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Thomas M. Thomas; and her grandson, Dustin Roher.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
